A worked example

Say your Round-2 pick beats a Round-1 club 2–1 with a goal from a center-back, finishes 6th in May, and loses a Carabao final along the way. That Saturday alone: +3 for the win, +1 giant-killing, +1 for the defender goal. In May: finishing 6th is +5, doubled to +10 as a Round-2 pick, plus +4 for the cup run to the final. Late-round overachievers pay the bills here.

The fine print

  • Tiebreakers, in order: combined goal difference of your owned clubs, then combined goals scored, then the later Round-1 pick wins.
  • Re-drafts: ownership can change at a matchweek boundary. Points already earned stay with whoever earned them. Match points follow the owner at that matchweek; cup points follow the owner when the stage was decided; end-of-season bonuses, awards and the Round-2 doubling use the era active at GW38. Giant-killings compare pick numbers within the era the match was played in.
  • A defender hat-trick earns the hat-trick bonus and a point per goal. He earned it.
  • Your own two clubs meeting: if your later pick beats your earlier pick, that is a giant-killing and you do get the point. Celebrate quietly.
  • Award ties split the points evenly. A tied player on an unowned club still consumes a share, and splits can go to decimals — a three-way tie is worth a third each, and the standings show one decimal place. Decimals count in full for the tiebreakers.
  • January transfers: the Golden Boot and Playmaker go to whoever owns the club the player is registered to at season end — same as the FPL feed lists him. Goals scored in an old shirt still count toward his total.
  • Abandoned or postponed matches score nothing until the rearranged fixture finishes — the whole season recomputes from raw results a few times a day, so late changes sort themselves out.
  • Unowned clubs appear in the table but score for nobody. European competitions are not scored (config flag exists if we get ideas).
